Support Staff Full-time New Position
(First consideration for Support Staff and Academic positions will be given to internal applicants in accordance with the respective Collective Agreements)
The Employer Development Coordinator supports the development of strategic and operational plans for the Talent Hub Employer Services team through research, analytics, and data management. The Coordinator conducts research and data mining to guide employer outreach and relationship management of prospective, current, and former employer/industry partners.
In this capacity, the incumbent identifies new, emerging markets that align with Conestoga’s new academic programs, student/alumni profile, and geographic reach. The Coordinator assists in cross-functional collaboration with internal stakeholders such as faculty, corporate training and alumni affairs to generate employer leads and referrals, and coordinates participation in industry and community initiatives to support business development.
Successful candidates will be required to conduct work within Ontario and must be available to work on campus as required. It is anticipated that this position will meet the needs of the department through a hybrid work arrangement with 3 days on-site, and 2 days remote.
## Responsibilities:
Research, Analytics & Data Management
- Researches prospective, current, and former employer partners to guide business development, relationship management and ongoing stewardship by the Employer Services team
- Assesses gaps and opportunities to inform employer outreach and business development.
- Identifies and researches new, emerging markets that align with Conestoga’s new academic programs, student/alumni profile and geographic reach
- Leverages Talent Hub systems to identify business development opportunities, remove barriers to development opportunities, enhance engagement and generate positive outcomes
- Participates in identifying performance indicators, metrics, and other data necessary to promote quality, sustainability and growth of employer and industry partnerships
- Analyses and evaluates data to assess service delivery for industry-specific portfolios, regional portfolios, and for the Employer Services team as a whole
- Prepares reports and presentations providing insight, trends and data relevant to operational and strategic decision-making
- Continuously audits business processes, assists in making recommendations for Talent Hub’s strategic approach to employer data collection and analysis
- Collaborates with IT team members and experts to identify, implement, and maintain technological solutions for the collection, analysis, and management of employer data
- Researches and assists in developing new ways of engaging with employers, responding to their needs and connecting them with students and graduates through enhanced employer engagement
Employer Engagement & Communication
- Strengthens existing relationships with Talent Hub (Co-op, Career and Work-Integrated Learning) employers and industry partners through relationship management initiatives designed to increase student/graduate/job seeker recruitment and enhance experiential learning opportunities
- Assists in providing strategic and tactical advice that allows Employer Liaisons to make in-roads with new employer organizations leading to the establishment of close contacts at all levels and within multiple business units
- Participates in cross-functional collaboration with internal stakeholders such as faculty, corporate training and alumni affairs to assist in identifying prospects and developing strategies to successfully engage them
- Coordinates the development of compelling marketing and communication materials to cultivate, engage and retain employer and industry partners
- Assists in Marketing talent development services to employers, industry and community organizations through face-to-face, telephone, email or other virtual contact
- Coordinates participation in employer, industry and community initiatives, events and activities to support business development
- Participates in activities such as business or industry networking events, trade shows as required to develop, maintain, and enhance relationships with key stakeholders
Qualification:
- Three-year Diploma/Degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Social Sciences, or related field of study
- Five years of experience in business development or fundraising with an emphasis on prospect research, analytics, and data management; Preferably in a post-secondary or industry recruitment environment
- Knowledge of the Canadian labour market, best practices and trends in student recruitment and candidate selection strategies
- Superior qualitative and quantitative research skills with the ability to synthesize information from a wide variety of sources
- Strong data management skills with the capacity to analyze and segment labour market information with the goal of supporting strategic/operational planning and execution
- Excellent communication skills across a variety of contexts (verbal, written, public speaking, presentations, proposals, reports, etc.)
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to foster productive relationships with faculty, alumni, and employers. High level of tact, diplomacy, and professionalism.
- Outstanding ability to leverage technology with a strong aptitude to learn new programs and systems
