Min. Experience Required:

- Trained Operator, preferably with 1-year relevant experience of traffic control operations or managing agri-drones or UAV systems

Job Specification:
--------------------
- The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in developing thorough understanding of aviation principles, airspace traffic regulations, traffic monitoring as well as proficiency in operating and controlling UAV systems for agricultural operations (remote sensing, spraying, seeding etc). Additionally, strong problem solving skills and ability to interpret data from UAV sensors are required for successful flight operations and mission execution.
- He/She will be responsible for the pilot run of traffic control center as well as for the test flights and UAV system maintenance, under the guidance and as assigned by the Project Manager. The duties and responsibilities are as follows: -
- Manning and pilot run of the UAS Airspace Management Center (UAS-ASMC) as traffic controller to identify and resolve potential conflicts or hazards in flight paths, airspace congestion, or emergency situations.
- Monitor the aerial traffic as per governing rules and highlight anomalies, if any.
- Perform routine equipment checks and report malfunctions for maintenance.
- Generate reports and log important data regarding UAS-ASMC for compliance and analysis.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in aviation regulations, technology, and best practices through continuous training and professional development.
- Execute and oversee test flights to access UAV performance, stability and handling qualities under various conditions.
- Create detailed test plans and protocols to evaluate specific aspects of the UAV such as maneuverability and payload integration.
- Collect and analyze flight data and telemetry to identify performance issues, validate design specifications and ensure safety.
- Identify and troubleshoot technical problems and anomalies encountered during test flights and working with concerned engineering teams / industrial partners to resolve issues.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and guidelines, conducting risk assessments and implement safety measures to protect personnel and equipment.
- Work closely with project teams, industry partners and developing teams to monitor, provide feedback and insights to ensure design and development of the UAS as per required scope and specifications of the project.
- Conduct manual and autonomous flying missions of VTOL, fixed wing and multi-rotor UAVs as per project requirements at agricultural fields.
- Aerial Mission Planning using Q-Ground Control and Mission Planner
- Ensuring serviceability and reliability of the UAS through periodic / corrective maintenance and overhauling as per the relevant technical manuals.
- Geo tagging of images taken from multispectral, thermal, and optical sensors and handing over the data to specialist data analysis team in required format.
- Assisting in drafting Technical RFPs, appraisals and briefs.
- Maintaining coordination / correspondence and meetings with the industrial partners and NASTP members regarding UAS Contracts.
- Ensure safe custody of equipment, sensors, drones and documentations and maintain record keeping.
- Update flight logs and aircraft maintenance documents. Document and report test results, including observations, performance metrics and recommendations for design improvements or modifications.

Qualification:
---------------
- Trained Operator, preferably with 1-year relevant experience of traffic control operations or managing agri-drones or UAV systems. Candidate with following qualification / additional experience would be given preference: -
- Bachelors / Masters in Aerospace/Avionics/Aviation Sciences/Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Experience in operational flying of Agricultural Drones for Precision Intervention (Seeding, Spreading etc) and Remote Sensing Operations or flight control operations.
- Proficient in assessing handling / flying qualities of UAVs or drones.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills to troubleshoot and optimize UAV’s operational environment.
