Those in tax compliance at PwC will focus on validating clients' compliance with tax laws and regulations. You will review and analyse financial data, prepare and file tax returns, and assist businesses in meeting their tax obligations while minimising risks of non-compliance. The Public Sector Tax Consulting Manager plays a critical role in delivering high‑quality advisory and transformation services to state agencies and M MDAs. The role focuses on supporting tax reforms, modernizing processes, improving compliance frameworks, enhancing operational efficiency, and advising on global best practices in tax policy and administration. The Manager will oversee multiple workstreams, lead junior teams, manage client expectations, and serve as the operational link between senior leadership and delivery teams. This role requires strong public administration knowledge, project management capability, analytical problem‑solving, and the ability to engage confidently with senior government stakeholders.
Eligibility / Qualification Required:
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in consulting, tax administration, economics, or public sector advisory.
- Strong knowledge of tax administration operations, compliance processes, and revenue authority structures.
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CITG , PMP , or equivalent is an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to lead engagements and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and policy interpretation skills.
- Excellent communication, report‑writing, and presentation abilities.
- Proven capability in managing teams in a fast‑paced, client‑facing environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience engaging with government agencies and M MDAs.
- Familiarity with public sector reform initiatives, revenue mobilization strategies, and compliance enhancement programs.
- Ability to design and facilitate capacity‑building programs for public sector including tax authorities.
- Understanding digital tax solutions, taxpayer services platforms, or revenue systems (an added advantage, but not mandatory).
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills for senior‑level stakeholder management.
