PwC is seeking an Actuarial Services Manager to join their Assurance Line of Service, specializing in the Insurance Industry. This pivotal role involves analyzing and managing financial risks for clients through sophisticated statistical modeling and data analysis, generating valuable insights for informed decision-making and risk mitigation. The successful candidate will lead an actuarial team, collaborating closely with both audit and non-audit clients within the insurance sector and multi-disciplinary PwC insurance teams. Key responsibilities include advising and providing assurance on Solvency II (regulatory capital, technical provisions), risk management, corporate governance, insurance license applications, and IFRS 17 concepts (cash flow and risk adjustment estimation).

Eligibility / Qualification Required:

  • Demonstrable work experience (5+ years) in actuarial insurance related areas.
  • Experience in risk and capital modelling, and a strong understanding of reserving, underwriting and catastrophe risks, including in particular exposure to Solvency II regulation (review of SFCRs, SCR calculations, etc.).
  • Prior Big 4 experience would be preferred.
  • Good understanding of a broad range of commonly used reserving techniques and the key reserving issues faced by the insurance industry.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical matters in a clear way, strong interpersonal skills, and good all-round commercial awareness.
  • Strong project and financial management skills. The ability to manage, and work in a team and deliver to budget and within timescales is an important skill.
  • Flexible, with the ability to multi-task effectively and possess strong technical, problem identification, and analytical skills.
  • Strongly committed to both personal and corporate success – Be self-motivated, in particular taking responsibility for personal development in technical and broader consulting skills.
  • Knowledge in IFRS 17 is considered to be an asset.
  • Qualification by the IFoA (or equivalent) is considered to be an asset.
