University of New Brunswick (UNB), Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada is hiring a full time Postdoctoral Fellow for Smart Grid Energy Management and Optimization in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. This postdoctoral fellowship research role focuses on smart grid energy management, microgrids, distributed energy resources (DER), vehicle to grid (V2G) optimization, frequency regulation, and grid interoperability standards for utility and industry impact. The role emphasizes publishing peer reviewed papers, writing technical reports for stakeholders, and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.
Eligibility / Qualification Required:
- PhD in Engineering or Computer Science with relevant smart grid research experience
- Strong publication record in high impact journals
- Strong analytical skills and curiosity for applied research
- Software development skills in Python or MATLAB (LabVIEW is a bonus)
- Useful tools and platforms: OPAL RT, PSSE, Power Systems Toolbox for grid modeling and simulation
- Knowledge of standards such as IEEE 2030.5 and IEEE 1547
- Ability to organize work and mentor graduate students
