Eligibility / Qualification Required:
The Safety Supervisor is responsible for implementing and monitoring workplace health and safety practices to ensure a safe working environment for employees, students, visitors, and contractors. The role involves conducting inspections, identifying hazards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and promoting safety awareness across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor and enforce workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments of facilities and work areas.
- Identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with local safety regulations, organizational policies, and emergency procedures.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses and prepare detailed reports.
- Conduct safety orientations, drills, and awareness training programs for staff.
- Monitor the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Coordinate fire safety inspections and emergency evacuation procedures.
- Maintain safety records, reports, permits, and documentation.
- Ensure first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and emergency equipment are properly maintained.
- Liaise with external authorities, contractors, and vendors on safety-related matters.
- Support management in developing a strong safety culture within the organization.
- Monitor housekeeping and workplace cleanliness standards.
- Recommend improvements for occupational health and safety practices.
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum [2–5] years of experience in safety supervision or HSE-related roles.
- Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and risk management practices.
- Certification in First Aid, Fire Safety, NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent is preferred.
- Strong observation, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to conduct training and emergency drills effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and report preparation.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in educational, healthcare, industrial, or corporate environments.
- Familiarity with emergency response planning and incident investigation.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations calmly.
