About the Role
UKG is seeking a Lead Revenue Accountant who will play a critical role in ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely revenue recognition across UKG’s revenue offerings. The ideal candidate brings exceptional accounting skills and the ability to work within an automated revenue accounting system. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting.

Key Responsibilities
• Apply ASC 606 revenue recognition principles to analyze complex SaaS contracts within an automated revenue accounting system, ensuring compliance with UKG revenue policies.
• Perform weekly and monthly revenue accounting imports, from revenue subledger to general ledger. Troubleshoot processing errors.
• Assist with reserve accounting, including areas requiring significant technical judgment such as contract asset reserves and credit and concession reserves.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and perform month-end balance sheet reconciliations.
• Perform month-end and quarter-end flux analysis and reporting, leveraging large data sets and tools such as Excel, Power BI, and other advanced technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including Technical Accounting and FP&A, to address revenue-related inquiries and ensure timely and accurate issue resolution.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of the revenue close process.
• Support external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
• Liaise with external auditors.
• Support the team in SOX project testing and remediation documentation.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred but not required.
• 5 + years of corporate revenue accounting experience or 3+ years of public accounting experience, with strong exposure to ASC 606 and multi-currency accounting.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and the ability to interpret and apply accounting standards and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Advanced Excel skills (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, IF statements) with experience working with large data sets.
• Experience working with large ERP/general ledger systems.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and tools quickly in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• High attention to detail with strong organizational skills and a sense of ownership.
• Initiative-taking and able to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with enterprise systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Oracle, RevPro (Zuora), and Salesforce.
• Experience with Microsoft office PowerPoint.

The pay range for this position is $102,300 to $140,000. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and work location. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible to participate in a performance-based bonus plan and to receive restricted stock unit awards as part of total compensation.
