Director of People & Culture About the role: The Director of People and Culture forms part of the Executive Leadership team who collectively make key strategic and operational decisions for the Hotel. We are looking for individuals who are brave problem solvers, have strong business acumen, good communication and interpersonal skills and are able to evidence professionalism, and adaptability. Individuals also need to be a catalyst for change and an employee champion while having a growth mindset. The role will have direct involvement in every aspect of the People and Culture function, including: benefits administration, employee relations, recruitment and retention, visa administration, employee communications, employee housing, employee recognition, learning and development, compliance and audits, workersâ compensation and legal matters related to hotel employees. Occasional travel is required for recruitment, task force, and training opportunities. What you will do: The Director will oversee all aspects of the People and Culture division including but not limited to benefits administration, employee relations, talent acquisition and retention of staff, communication to staff, career development of staff, wage & hour compliance, training, workersâ compensation and legal matters related to hotel employees. Monitor the quality of staff performance including review of disciplinary actions, recommendations for suspension or termination as well as establish a regular performance appraisal program for all staff. Assess the development and effectiveness of all levels of employees and the manpower needs of the hotel using succession planning and assisting management with career planning and counseling. Supervise the financial issues for the P&C budget including benefits, labor & salary reports and plan cost effective events within the P&C budget guidelines. Establish and implement recruitment, selection, placement and pre-employment procedures in accordance with Four Seasons Hotels and Resortsâ policy and all applicable laws to include hiring, staffing guide and compensation guidelines Analyze hotel training and development needs at all levels and create or coordinate the creation of programs designed to make employees proficient in their delivery of core and culture standards and prepare them for promotion from within Play an active role in our Wellness programs and are responsible for leading successful Diversity Inclusion and Belonging initiatives. Actively balance the requirements of being strategic and tactical and have a high degree of integrity for employee heart of the house spaces. What you bring: Previous Experience in a Director of People & Culture or Assistant Director of People & Culture role required, preferably within a luxury hotel environment Bachelorâs Degree/4-year Degree is strongly preferred. Human Resources, Educational or Hospitality background is preferable, however, not essential if applicants have previous relevant work experience. Experience with HRIS and Payroll systems; Workday and ADP preferred. Bilingual language skills; Spanish a plus. A passion for service in Luxury Hospitality while possessing strong financial acumen and ability to understand strategic financial planning and budgeting. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, conflict-resolution, and strategic-thinking skills. Strong experience in Human Resources Leadership and Strategy, Employee Relations and Engagement, Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, Labour Relations, and Total Rewards.
