Eligibility / Qualification Required:
About the RoleThe Engineering Support Center (ESC) is the internal technical department of Hydronic Engineering, providing high‑level engineering and application support to IMI’s international sales teams.
As an
Technical Support Engineer,you will remotely and on-site support IMI colleagues worldwide, focusing on the technical performance, application, troubleshooting, system integration, and documentation of IMI products.
Supported product families include IMI‑designed or IMI‑distributed electrical, electronic, and BUS‑based solutions (e.g., control valves & actuators, controllers, and related technologies).
This is a highly technical, customer‑oriented role requiring strong problem‑solving skills, autonomy, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Support & Collaboration- Provide high‑quality technical support in English to Climate Control colleagues.
- Maintain close collaboration with R&D teams: gather technical information, give feedback, share field insights, and contribute to continuous product development.
- Actively contribute to developing the ESC support function—knowledge sharing, process optimization, and new service ideas.
- Proactively manage a dedicated customer group, ensuring timely and accurate task delivery.
Independent Task Execution- Work independently and communicate directly with IMI internal and external customers.
- Explain and justify technical solutions and recommendations.
- Interpret technical requests in English and gather all required data to complete tasks.
- Provide written technical summaries and customer‑ready documentation in English.
Specialization & Knowledge Development- Create “FAQ‑style” technical articles for recurring issues in your product area.
- Support product development by preparing recommendations for new products, tools, or software.
- Review and validate IMI technical documentation (catalogues, manuals, instructions).
Engineering & System Support- Support design engineers by reviewing HVAC/automation system plans and proposing alternative technical solutions.
- Create calculations, data lists, and Excel‑based documentation.
- Prepare drawings or technical sketches about product application in design-phase projects.
- Monitor industry trends and evaluate applicability to IMI’s future offerings.
Advanced Responsibilities- Deliver internal trainings and hands-on sessions.
- Support remote investigation of faulty products and provide repair recommendations.
- Participate in commissioning, troubleshooting, or repair activities for IMI products in Hungary and surrounding countries.
Required Qualifications & Experience- University degree (BSc or equivalent )in Electrical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 5 years of practical experience in building automation
- Proficient MS Office skills.
- Good MS Office skills (AutoCAD basics a plus).
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills (min B2 level - Upper Intermediate)
- Precise, reliable work style with strong attention to detail.
- Fast and enthusiastic learner—willing to master IMI products, ESC procedures, and all required software tools.
