Job Description:
- Ensure effective operations of the CSSD in the absence of the Supervisor.
- Good understanding of sterilization practices and aseptic technique.
- Ability to organize work; a team player able to maintain effective working relationships with team members, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Report any malfunctioning equipment to the Supervisor and Maintenance Department.
- Check all surgical trays before final packing.
- Understanding of infection control in CSSD.
- Provide orientation and supervise the activities of CSSD Technicians and Junior Technicians.
- Log complaints in the record book on a daily basis and update them as complaints are resolved; report updates to the Assistant Manager.
- Ensure that the CSSD environment is maintained at a set standard at all times.
- Assure safety, security, and aseptic measures are followed in the CSSD.
- Perform all tasks assigned by the Supervisor, Assistant Manager, or Head of Department.
- Work planning and organizing.
- Ensure implementation of sterilization, packing, and cleaning as per the standards and policies of the department.
- Ensure effective sterilization and disinfection services to the operating room, obstetric day-care surgery, and other units and wards.
- Check stock levels of detergents, disinfectants, sponges, swabs, paper, etc., and raise requests as necessary.
- Report any malfunctioning equipment/instruments to the Supervisor or Senior Charge Hand.
- Operate washing machines, dryers, sterilizers, and other machinery used in the Central Supply Room.
- Monitor quality control checks on a regular basis and conduct Sterilizer Bacterial Spore Strip Tests on a monthly basis.
