Brooke Pakistan is a non-profit public limited (by guarantee) company established under section 42 of the Companies' Act, working in Punjab, Sindh & KPK to improve the lives of working equine animals (Horse, Donkey & Mule). We are looking for suitable candidates to fill the vacant position of ADVOCACY & PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT MANAGER at Lahore. A two-year contract will be offered initially, extendable.
Eligibility / Qualification Required:
- Master's Degree in Sociology, Social Work, Development Studies, Public Policy, Political Science or other relevant disciplines.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in advocacy, policy engagement, and programme partnerships in the development or non-profit sector.
- Be a part of and have a strong network of National and International Organisations and stakeholders.
- Lead national advocacy on animal welfare and working equine issues with federal and provincial stakeholders.
- Contribute to global initiatives such as Action for Animal Health and related campaigns in coordination with international colleagues.
- Lead engagement on priority issues, including the donkey skin trade and the responsible use of veterinary medicines and antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
- Build relationships with government, academia, civil society, and international partners to support policy dialogue and animal welfare policy development.
- Position Brooke Pakistan as a credible technical partner on animal welfare, livestock policy, and One Health issues.
- Monitor partnership programmes and identify opportunities to expand welfare and livelihood initiatives.
- Conduct contextual analysis to develop partnerships with like-minded organisations.
- Establish partnerships with government, non-government, and academic organisations and coordinate with Brooke UK on regional and global advocacy initiatives.
- Advocate inclusion of animal welfare in disaster risk reduction (DRR) frameworks and promote improved welfare of working equines in sectors such as brick kilns, transport, waste management, and coal mines.
