The role of this position is to supervise and manage gas distribution operations within the assigned Sub-Zone and ensure uninterrupted gas supply to domestic, commercial, and industrial consumers. The position is responsible for controlling UFG/gas losses, monitoring pressure management, supervising maintenance and rehabilitation activities, ensuring compliance with OGRA and HSE standards, handling customer complaints, and leading field staff to achieve operational, safety, and revenue targets efficiently.
Eligibility / Qualification Required:
Engineering graduate preferably in Mechanical/Electrical/Petroleum with at least 2 years of experience. Candidates having experience in Oil and Gas/Public sector will be preferred.
Job Description / Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage gas distribution operations within the assigned sub-zone
- Identify and control Unaccounted-for Gas (UFG) / gas losses
- Conduct pressure profiling on technically key station as routine work
- Conduct leakage survey of installation as per SOPs and its rectification and post leakage survey to carry out maintenance activities and rehabilitation
- Repair & replace defective valves, control valves, pressure controller and gauges and arrange timely replacement of filter elements to quality gas to customer
- Optimization use of budget and managing store items providing support to gas control in respect of UFG analysis
- Perform daily administration jobs related to Sub Zone
- Perform any other task assigned by senior management.
- Plan, schedule, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance of gas pipelines and equipment
- Ensure uninterrupted gas supply by minimizing downtime and responding to breakdowns
- Supervise maintenance staff and ensure compliance with operational standards
- Conduct routine inspections and risk assessments of facilities
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and system performance
- Coordinate with operations and engineering teams for system improvements
- Prepare technical reports and recommend performance enhancements
- Ensure uninterrupted gas supply and effective pressure management across the network
- Monitor maintenance activities of pipelines, regulators, and associated infrastructure
- Lead and manage field staff, technicians, and support teams
- Ensure compliance with company policies, OGRA regulations, and safety standards
- Handle customer complaints and ensure timely resolution of service issues
- Monitor billing, recovery, and revenue targets within the sub-zone
- Coordinate with engineering and maintenance teams for repair and upgrade works
- Conduct inspections and audits of field operations and safety practices
- Respond to emergency situations such as gas leakages and system failures
- Maintain operational records and prepare performance and compliance reports
- Support implementation of new projects and infrastructure expansion
- Liaise with local authorities and stakeholders when required
