Eligibility / Qualification Required:
- Qualification: Technician Diploma
- Experience: 03-04 years relevant experience
Notes:
i. Coordinate with Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians to ensure adequate maintenance of Pharmacy inventory and adherence to protocols during shift changes under Shift In-Charge Pharmacist supervision. Maintain all records and documentation.
ii. Under Pharmacist supervision, accurately fill patient requisitions per issued prescriptions and patient drug profiles.
iii. Ensure medications are packaged, labeled, and delivered promptly to end users/nursing stations.
Iv. Maintain, monitor, and replenish inventory stock; prepare requisitions for required items.
v. When assigned to Cath Lab/Radiology: Maintain consignment item records.
vi. Document consumption of procedural items by obtaining countersigned hard copies of utilization forms.
vii. When assigned to Sterile Compounding Area:
● Accurately fill prescriptions, restock IV area supplies shift-wise, and maintain IVPB Inventory.
● Compound sterile parenteral admixtures, TPN, and chemotherapy agents (including reconstitution, calculations, and labeling) per policy.
● Assist Pharmacists in selecting, filling, assembling, preparing, packaging, and labeling medications.
● Perform sterile compounding using aseptic technique to established standards.
● Safely handle, compound, and ensure timely medication distribution to patient care areas.
● Ensure shift-wise/daily/monthly compliance with USP <797> & <800> (garbing, PPE, sterile area/LAF/BSC cleaning).
● Obtain Pharmacist verification before releasing admixtures.
● Maintain temperature/humidity logs, cleaning logs, and related documentation.
● Operate, monitor, clean, and maintain equipment per standards or manufacturer guidelines.
● Perform routine QA checks (equipment validation/calibration, expiration audits, storage inspections).
● Assist Pharmacists with operational support, including housekeeping coordination and proper/timely sterile waste disposal.
● Train new staff and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
