Eligibility / Qualification Required:
Batterjee Medical College is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented
Simulation Lab Technician to support simulation-based education and clinical skills training activities. The role is responsible for preparing, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting simulation equipment and laboratory systems to ensure effective, safe, and uninterrupted academic and training operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesSimulation Equipment Operations & Maintenance
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot simulation equipment, task trainers, and audiovisual systems
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance for simulation devices and laboratory equipment
- Ensure simulation equipment functions according to manufacturer specifications and operational requirements
- Conduct routine inspections, testing, and pre-session equipment checks
Simulation Session Support
- Prepare simulation rooms, laboratories, mannequins, and training materials before sessions
- Support faculty during simulation activities, practical sessions, workshops, and examinations
- Configure simulation scenarios and assist with operation of simulation software and control systems
- Ensure readiness of equipment and supplies for scheduled academic activities
Technical Troubleshooting & User Support
- Respond promptly to technical issues during simulation sessions
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs when necessary
- Provide technical support and guidance to faculty, staff, and students on simulation equipment usage
Inventory & Asset Management
- Maintain accurate records of simulation equipment, maintenance activities, and service history
- Monitor inventory of consumables, accessories, and spare parts
- Ensure proper asset tagging and tracking of simulation equipment
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain maintenance logs, calibration records, inspection reports, and operational documentation
- Ensure documentation is complete, organized, and audit-ready
- Report equipment issues, incidents, and maintenance requirements to the supervisor
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, operational standards, and institutional policies
- Conduct safety and functionality checks before equipment use
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and transportation of simulation equipment
Coordination & Academic Support
- Coordinate with faculty and academic departments regarding simulation schedules and technical requirements
- Support OSCEs, clinical competency assessments, workshops, and academic events
- Schedule maintenance activities to minimize disruption to academic operations
Vendor & Service Coordination
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for specialized maintenance and repairs
- Assist in installation, setup, and commissioning of new simulation equipment
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Technology, Healthcare Simulation Technology, or related field
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in simulation labs, biomedical equipment maintenance, or healthcare technical support preferred
- Familiarity with simulation mannequins, audiovisual systems, and clinical training equipment
- Basic knowledge of electronics, troubleshooting, and technical maintenance
