Job Description:
- Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day supervision of clinical laboratory operations to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality test results
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP, COLA, OSHA)
- Oversee quality assurance and quality control programs, including review of QC data, proficiency testing, and corrective actions
- Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate laboratory staff; ensure competency assessments are completed as required
- Coordinate staffing schedules and workflow to maintain optimal laboratory coverage and efficiency
- Review, validate, and release laboratory results in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Monitor laboratory equipment performance; coordinate maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting activities
- Maintain and update standard operating procedures, policies, and documentation
- Support laboratory inspections, audits, and regulatory surveys
- Collaborate with pathologists, clinicians, and management to support patient care and continuous process improvement
- Assist with inventory management, budgeting, and cost-control initiatives
