Role Overview:
This is a post designed to support and enable the further development of specialist internal medicine services at SKMCH&RC. The appointee will be expected to participate in the provision of cardiology services and to provide medical expertise in the day-to-day management. The prime role of the appointee will be reporting of echocardiograms and other Cardiac diagnostic tests.
The appointee will be expected to participate in research and publish in peer reviewed journals. He/she will also be expected to participate in teaching of residents, fellows and ancillary staff along with development and delivery of educational programmes for internal and external candidates.
SKMCH&RC is committed to the multi-disciplinary model of service provision. It is expected that, in keeping with institutional policy and practice, the post holder will participate fully in multi-disciplinary team meetings, as appropriate to the nature of his/her work.
The post is based at the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Lahore.
Eligibility / Qualification Required:
- MRCP (UK) and three years experience of working in the UK, together with an appropriate CCST / Equivalent qualification..
- American board in internal medicine, with sub-speciality board in cardiology.
- Medical practitioner with full and unencumbered registration with the PMDC.
- Evidence of extensive experience in a variety of in- and out-patient treatment facilities and settings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to relate to patients and relatives in an understanding and sympathetic manner
- Ability to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team
