Technician LAN

Applications are invited for the post of Technician LAN at National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST).

Key Responsibilities:

To ensure the reliable, secure, and efficient operation of the organization’s network infrastructure; enabling seamless connectivity, minimizing downtime, and supporting day-to-day ICT functions and future system growth.
a. Install, configure, and maintain LAN equipment, including switches, routers, access points, and cabling.
b. Monitor network performance, identify issues, troubleshoot issues, and ensure minimal downtime.
c. Ensure network security by implementing access controls, firewalls, and other security measures and maintain compliance with ICT policies.
d. Assist in network expansions, upgrades, and integration of new systems or devices.
e. Provide technical support for ICT projects and day-to-day network-related tasks.
f. Maintain documentation of network configurations, topology, and changes.
g. Coordinate with vendors and service providers for equipment maintenance or repair.
h. Ensure compliance with organizational ICT policies, standards, and best practices.

Required Skills:

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities
a. Strong knowledge of LAN technologies and network protocols.
b. Proficiency in switches, routers, access points, and structured cabling.
c. Ability to install, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network equipment.
d. Knowledge of network security measures and ICT policy compliance.
e. Ability to diagnose issues, perform maintenance, and support ICT projects.

Eligibility / Qualification Required:

General Conditions:

Candidates are required to attach scanned copies of their documents (Academics / Professional). Last education certificate/degree must be attested/verified by HEC.
Candidates may be considered ineligible for the post due to any of the following reasons:

- 3rd Div in academic career / weak academic profile.
- NUST employees with less than one year of service with NUST and / or absence of NOC from Head of Institution.
- In process of pursuing a required degree.
- Medically unfit.
- Only selected candidates will be contacted and issued offer letter.
- Candidates serving in Govt departments, Armed forces may apply through their respective parent department / organizations.
Late / incomplete applications will be ignored. Only short-listed candidates will be considered / called for test / interview and no TA / DA will be admissible. NUST reserves the right to cancel, modify / terminate the recruitment program due to any reason, without notice, at any time
