About the role: Four Seasons Hotel Madrid is seeking a passionate Lead Host/ess to joint the team!Reporting to the Assistant Managers and the Restaurant Manager, the Lead Host/ess is an essential member of the Dani Brasserie team which is dedicated to providing exceptional quality and service to our guests, while supervising and training the Hostess team. What you will do: Assist the department managers with training of new employees as requested. Answers telephones according to Four Seasons standards and takes guest reservations or provides information regarding the restaurant or any other hotel service. Seats guests promptly at a table pre-set for the number in the party and according to guest preference. Inspects and maintains daily menus to ensure quality, condition and appearance while developing a complete working knowledge of all menu items and daily specials. Oversees profiling guests before service begins in order to enhance guest experience. Ensures that guest reservations are inputted into the restaurant reservation system in a consistent and uniformed format. Prepares the VIP highlights for the dinner meal period and have it ready for the team briefing before service begins. Manages flow of guest arrival in an efficient manner by keeping into account the load factor of each server section. Ensures that the hostess desk has enough operating supplies and order according to business needs. Completes special projects (menu changes, signage, etc) as instructed. Ensures proper table set-up and makes minor adjustments as needed. Anticipates the needs of guests, responds accordingly to guest inquiries or problems, and recognizes regular guests by name and utilizes the guestâs name consistently. Has the ability to provide recognition, promote good public relations, and handle complaints, concerns or special requests for guests, clients, and group contacts. Communicates with employees and managers to ensure operational needs are met. Supports the entire Food and Beverage operation, including working in other areas if necessary. Assists the Restaurant Managers with the preparation and maintenance of employee schedules and vacation planning, ensuring appropriate staffing levels according to business needs. Supports the Restaurant Managers in the onboarding, training, and continuous development of the Hostess team, ensuring all team members consistently follow Four Seasons standards and procedures. Conducts on-the-job training and coaching for Hostesses, providing regular feedback to maintain high service standards and enhance the guest arrival experience. What you bring: Experience: One to two yearsâ previous experience in Food & Beverage, experience in leadership positions is a plus. Skills and Abilities: Leadership skills to lead the hostess team. Well personality and well groomed. Previous employment experience in a similar position with other luxury Hotels will be an added advantage. Requires ability to operate computer equipment and other food & beverage computer systems. Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in both English and Spanish. Requires a working knowledge of division operations as well as Four Seasons cultural and core standards, policies, and standard operating procedures. Working knowledge is generally learned on-the-job. Positive attitude with a generous and uplifting team approach. Ability to proactively anticipate and prioritize the needs of the guest.
