The purpose of this position is to conduct pre-audit of Sales Tax returns and ensures accurate filings as per applicable laws.


Eligibility / Qualification Required:


MBA (Finance) / ACCA with at least 1 year of relevant experience. Or CA Inter / CMA Inter with 4 years of relevant experience (article ship completed)


Job Description / Responsibilities:



  1. Conduct pre-audit of Sales Tax returns on a monthly basis to ensure complete and accurate filings as per applicable law. Reconcile data collected against system generated reports. 
  2. Before submission to Manager, recheck Sales Tax return. Ensure that all Annexures to Sales Tax return are correctly prepared and Sales Tax Liability calculated by FBR Portal is identical with SSGC calculation. 
  3. Recheck GL reports and FBR purchase data and consolidated Input record of SSGC for last 6 months to help ensure that all Sales Tax invoices in GL (particularly invoices becoming time barred after 6 months) are timely claimed.
  4. Check Sales Tax invoices to determine if these are claimable as per Law and are as per prescribed format. Recheck the reconciliation of data collected against software report and ensure completeness of invoices and Sales Tax amount & resolution pertaining to IRIS issues.
  5. Check accuracy of withholding sales tax deduction before processing of Payment Vouchers for deposit of Tax Liability into Government treasury.
  6. Verify Sales Data to ensure that zero-rating, General Sales Tax, Extra Sales Tax and Further Sales Tax has been properly applied as per Law and Coordination with customer to accept Credit Adjustments declared by SSGC in Return.
  7. Check reconciliation of sales tax data with tax deposited to FBR on account of GST deductions. Check and verify control output on monthly basis for Tax consultant to check accuracy of GST billed to customers against FBR portal. 
  8. The individual shall ensure compliance to the Enterprise Risk Management Framework enforced in the Company while performing job responsibilities in accordance with his assigned role.
  9. The individual shall ensure compliance to the Business Principles and Ethics Policy / Code of Conduct.
  10. Undertake any other assignment as assigned by supervisor.
