Eligibility / Qualification Required:

  Matric with OT Diploma recognized from medical faculty

• Experience:

  Minimum 1 year of relevant experience

Job Description / Notes:

• The Runner is responsible for assisting Junior Technicians, Technicians and Senior Technicians during all the Operation Theatre procedures . Independently perform the following tasks: Clean all OT and medical equipment. Arrange and ensure available of surgical instruments and consumable items for every procedure Verify and account for the availability of swabs and sponges before every procedure, informing surgeons if unavailable. Ensure documentation is complete and properly recorded (including consumption forms). Ensure all protocols are followed when shifting patients from the OR to the recovery room (patients should be clean, dressed and covered). Ensure all patient safety measures are implemented. Coordinate with Housekeeping to ensure cleanliness of the OR is maintained. Effectively coordinate and communicate with surgeons and OT staff Perform all tasks as assigned by the Head of Department.
