Job Description / Notes:
● To maintain the KPI's to achieve set objectives & goals of the department and to perform RCA with preventive and corrective actions for low rating KPIs.
● To ensure medical equipment are well functional according to recommendations/guidelines of manufacturers.
● Ensure BDM & PPM should be performed timely in order to minimize response and resolve time.
● Ensure end-user training and keeping its records as per plan.
● To ensure entire medical equipment (functional or faulty) are properly tagged.
● Independently able to performed the assigned technical jobs and produce technical report as and when required.
● Responsible to Update Complete Inventory of medical equipment.
● Supervise Engineers on problem solving technical issues.
● Assessment of safe and suitable environmental condition for medical equipment.
● Organize the pending jobs with junior engineers when asked.
● Follow up the due maintenance (BDM & PPM) In house and outsource.
● Analyze and assist management on the planning, acquisition and use of medical equipment.
● Responsible for monitoring of Parts/consumables inventory for critical equipment.
● To take necessary action for Disposed Equipment Record.
● To prepare & update Work instructions of entire medical equipment.
● Responsible to provide EDLR forms for new equipment to management for the updating of Master inventory.
● Regular Sites inspection with record keeping to make sure safe operating/environment condition & checking PM Stickers of installed equipment.
● To take necessary action review and completion against received Recall and alerts. Ensure Daily check protocol of defibrillator & other lifesaving equipment.
● To deliver User training on safe operating of entire medical equipment with record keeping.
● Responsible to perform Operator Audit on provided user training on medical equipment to ensure users are well trained and to update the record.
● To ensure Safety trainings for Biomedical Staff with record keeping.
● Update & record list of Chemicals which are part of MSDS.
● Review & update Test Equipment Calibration record and Certificates.
● To maintain Equipment UPTIME Record.
● To review equipment warranty expiry & Service Contract Checklist.
● Biomedical Tools kit should be placed safely.
In addition to the core responsibilities, the Senior Engineer will also be accountable and look after any specific or all areas assigned by the immediate Supervisor/Head of Department as follows:

A. CLINICAL LABORATORIES
● Maintain and calibrate laboratory analyzers, centrifuges, and other diagnostic equipment.
● Ensure equipment used in sample processing maintains the integrity and accuracy of test results.
● Adhere to standards set by regulatory bodies for laboratory equipment performance and safety.
● Ensure that analyzers are integrated to Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
● Ensure that validation and QC test performed on analyzers after installation and before first use.
● Monitor laboratory equipment inventory and support procurement planning.
B. CRITICAL CARE SERVICES
● Ensure the functionality and readiness of life-support systems such as ventilators, defibrillators, anesthesia workstation, Balloon pump etc.
● Provide immediate technical support during critical situations, including equipment failures in Intensive Care Units (ICUs) and operation theatre.
● Ensure Monitoring of temperature, humidity, and other critical parameters in patient care areas.
● Adhere to protocols and regulations specific to critical care environments, ensuring patient and staff safety.
● Ensure seamless integration of critical care equipment with hospital information systems of system.
● Monitor critical care equipment inventory and support procurement planning.
C. CENTRAL STERILE SUPPLY DEPARTMENT (CSSD)
● Maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot sterilizes, washers, dryers, ultrasonic cleaners and sealing machines etc.
● Maintain proper documentations for maintenance and quality checks (e.g Bowie-Dick test, biological indicators etc.).
● Train CSSD staff on proper handling, loading and use of sterilization equipment.
● Ensure the pressures of RO water and air are adequate to operate CSSD equipment.
● Ensure sterilization processes meet standards such as NABH, JCI, AAMI, or CDC guidelines.
● Assist in drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for equipment use and maintenance.
● Monitor CSSD equipment inventory and support procurement planning.
D. IMAGING SERVICES
● Ensure maintenance and calibration of imaging devices such as MRI machines, CT scanners, and X-ray units, ultrasounds and others.
● Ensure monitoring of radiation shielding to ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
● Ensure routine quality assurance tests to maintain image quality and equipment performance.
● Manage updates to imaging equipment software, ensuring compatibility and functionality.
● Ensure all radiology equipment and practices comply with standards set by bodies such as the Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority (PNRA) and international guidelines.
● Ensure that all imaging equipment is integrated with PACS and RIS system through DICOM connection.
● Monitor radiology equipment inventory and support procurement planning knowledge and skills.
● Perform any other task assigned by the immediate Supervisor/ Head of Department that is commensurate with their knowledge and skills.
