Ngā kōrero mo tēnei tūranga / About the role As an Associate in our Audit team, you’ll help deliver high-quality financial statement audits for clients across sectors such as banking, insurance, real estate, funds and trusts. You’ll work closely with client stakeholders and engagement teams to understand reporting processes, assess risks, and support work that helps build trust in financial information. Your day-to-day could include:

  • Preparing audit workpapers and deliverables in line with PwC methodologies and quality standards.
  • Performing audit procedures across key financial statement areas and taking ownership of allocated work.
  • Analysing financial information, internal controls and business processes to identify risks, issues and opportunities.
  • Communicating clearly with clients and colleagues to investigate and resolve audit matters.
  • Using technology, data and digital tools to improve audit quality, efficiency and insights.

As an Associate in our Audit team, you’ll help deliver high-quality financial statement audits for clients across sectors such as banking, insurance, real estate, funds and trusts. You’ll work closely with client stakeholders and engagement teams to understand reporting processes, assess risks, and support work that helps build trust in financial information.

Your day-to-day could include:

Ngā pūkenga ka kawea mai e koe, ka whakawhanakehia rānei i tēnei tūranga / Skills you will bring or develop in this role

  • A relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s qualification in accounting or a closely related subject.
  • Chartered Accountant membership or equivalent, either in progress or attained.
  • At least 18 months’ experience in an external audit role within a professional services firm.
  • Knowledge of accounting and financial reporting standards, with an interest in building deeper industry expertise.
  • Strong organisation, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain complex information in a practical way.
  • A collaborative approach and confidence working with clients, colleagues and wider teams.
