Description:

The Runner is responsible for assisting Junior Technicians, Technicians and Senior Technicians during all the Operation Theatre procedures.

Independently perform the following tasks:
• Clean all OT and medical equipment.
• Arrange and ensure available of surgical instruments and consumable items for every procedure
• Verify and account for the availability of swabs and sponges before every procedure, informing surgeons if unavailable.
• Ensure documentation is complete and properly recorded (including consumption forms).
• Ensure all protocols are followed when shifting patients from the OR to the recovery room (patients should be clean, dressed and covered).
• Ensure all patient safety measures are implemented.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping to ensure cleanliness of the OR is maintained.
Effectively coordinate and communicate with surgeons and OT staffPerform all tasks as assigned by the Head of Department.

Qualification:

• Matric with Diploma Operation Theater Technology or equivalent

Experience:
• MINIMUM 01 YEAR OF RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
