State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the Central Bank, is looking for talented and energetic candidates for the following contractual positions in the IT Programs & Project Management Department based at Karachi.Key responsibilities of the incumbent will include, but not limited to, the following:
• Perform configuration, administration and monitoring of Red Hat/Oracle, Ubuntu, Debian Enterprise Linux distribution.
• Monitor server hosting infrastructure component comprising VMware, Hyper-V, SAN and Server hardware.
• Maintain and support data backup and recovery operations of systems hosted on Linux servers using Veritas NetBackup or DELLEMC Networker or similar enterprise backup software.
• Perform Linux systems tuning and optimization for different databases and application system in coordination with respective technical teams.
• Coordinate with OEMs, SLA vendors for the resolution of technical issues.
• Ensure availability of Services to users hosted on Linux based servers.
• Respond and resolve requests from IT Teams pertaining to Linux Servers and associated service.
• Perform DR, BCP and Cyber Recovery drills of servers and applications.
• Contribute in preparing and maintaining documentation related to operations manual, SOPs, technical Installation and configuration documents, disaster recovery procedures, change orders and service request related to Linux based systems.
• Work with internal/external resources to implement changes off hours or when required.
• Undertake and complete any other technology/IT systems related task/s assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification:
Education:
• Master's or Bachelor's Degree (with a minimum of 16 years of education) in IT, Computer Science/Systems, Computer Engineering or equivalent qualification from an HEC recognized university or a reputable foreign university from HEC recognized university.
Age:
• Maximum 32 years, as on the last date to submit application.
• Relaxation may be allowed in case of additional relevant experience and certifications.
Experience:
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience of administration and support on Linux operating system. RHEL and any other relevant certification in the area of Linux will have added advantage.
