Description:

The Department of Computer Science within the Faculty of Science at the University of Calgary invites applications for two 2-year Limited Term Assistant Professor (Teaching) positions with an anticipated start date of August 2023.

Applicants must have an MSc in Computer Science or related discipline, and have a demonstrated ability in delivering high-quality instruction to undergraduate students.

The successful candidate will teach up to 6 half-course equivalents (HCE) per calendar year and will also have the opportunity to engage in scholarly activities to maintain currency in the field, including scholarship of teaching & learning.

By helping us to create innovative, experiential learning environments for our students and community, the successful candidate is expected to contribute to the University of Calgary’s Eyes High vision, and to provide high-quality teaching experiences.

The Department of Computer Science is one of Canada’s leaders, with demonstrated excellence in teaching and research. It has large undergraduate and graduate programs, state-of-the-art computing facilities, and successful multi-disciplinary linkages.

Qualification:

- MSc in Computer Science or related discipline
- Demonstrated ability or previous experience to teach and deliver a range of high-quality instruction to undergraduate courses in systems, theory, database, and software engineering courses
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- A commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Science
