Description:

Job Purpose

To manage freight strategy for entire EFERT logistics operations and supply sources of Pakistan. Develop processes and systems which allow for the most cost-efficient sourcing of logistics services whilst ensuring maximum service delivery to internal and external stakeholders.

Management of freight budget

• Working out best suited structure which helps to minimize freight cost for the company, which is the second highest cost component for the company after raw material/gas cost.


• Track macro and micro-economic factors impacting transportation industry and ensure compliance of legal and statutory frameworks


• Ensuring to take the inputs and feedback from all stakeholders during finalization of the budgets and developing forecasting models for all supply sources including Daharki Plant, Zarkhez Plant, Karachi Port, Karachi Warehouses and Zabardast Urea plants.


• Supervising preparation of budget and ensuring the approvals as per LOAM for volume of ~3Mn MT from all supply sources.


• Monthly performance review against budget


• Timely informing management of significant changes / variations in transportation spend.

Logistics compliance officer

• Conduct structured/spot visits at Karachi Port & Warehouses to do internal audit of controls and ensure compliance.


• Identify gaps in operational controls at aforementioned locations and report findings directly to GM Logistics.


• Conduct one audit per annum of different zonal warehouses for independent verification and liaise with other ZCO’s to ensure best practices are implemented in all zones.


• Ensure compliance of HSE standards as Secretary Ports, Freight & Khi Logistics HSE Committee and conduct regular meetings.

Stakeholder Management

• Working with vendors on ’Value for Money’ strategy.


• Identifying and capitalizing on win-win opportunities as they arise including new cost-efficient modes of transport.


• Developing excellent and effective collaborative relationships with vendors to ensure strategic job needs are fully understood and managed by them.


• Supervising liquidity management for vendors by ensuring billing/fuel card provisions are executed by team members as per agreed SOP & KPI’s.

Developing purchase processes

• Driving continuous improvement, best value and quality improvements


• Actively seek ways to achieve better outcomes, contributing to ensure key performance and objectives targets are met and corrective action taken where necessary.


• Qualification:

  - 4-7 years of Supply Chain/Logistics/Commercial experience
  - Bachelor's or Master's Degree
