Description:

The Meezan Bank announced job vacancy for the post of Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) Officer at MEP, Sustainability & HSE department at Karachi.

Meezan Bank, Pakistan’s leading Islamic Commercial Bank, operating with a network of more than 980 branches in over 320 cities across the country, is seeking applications from individuals meeting the following criteria:

Job Responsibilities:
• To coordinate with multilaterals and plan environmental protection activities i.e., tree plantation, Carbon Dioxide assessment, etc.
• To collaborate with internal regions/areas and plan initiatives focused on ESG aspects
• To plan yearly Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) training plan and keep training records in coordination with Learning & Development as per State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) guidelines
• To plan and execute HSE audits of branches as per guidelines
• To coordinate with in-house and outreach departments for sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) related projects

Location:
• Head Office - Karachi

• *Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview.
• Preference will be given to those who have qualification in Islamic Finance.

Qualification:

• B.E./M.E. Environmental Engineering or B.S/M.S. Environmental Sciences or relevant environment degree from an HEC recognized institute/university

Experience:
• 5 years in any corporate company/bank working on Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) initiatives of company (banking sector experience will be preferred)

Skills & Knowledge:
• Proficient in MS office
• Hands-on on net-zero/Carbon zero impact projects of buildings and processes, ESG reporting (On international reporting formats), Carbon footprint reduction, reduction of energy consumption per capital
