Description:

Services of Supervisor are required at Housekeeping & Laundry department of The Indus Hospital, Korangi Campus, Karachi.

• This position is responsible for identifying, selecting, mixing, and applying chemical or manual solutions as per MSDS to get rid of pests from TIH patient and non-patient care areas, identifies pest problem and appropriate solution, applies chemical or trap e.g. cages/glue plates etc., and removes dead rodents immediately.
• Responsible to assign pest control staff duties as per established system, inspect staff work, and investigate daily complaints/incidents regarding HK-Pest control, pest control equipment & take corrective actions and communicate to HK management.
• Take periodic inventories of HK-Pest Control equipment’s, train newly hired pest control staff through on job /practical training.
• Maintain effective communication/working relationship within the Housekeeping and other TIH departments.
• Responsible for the effective operation & maintenance of the established Pest control SOPs / protocols i.e. implantation of correct PPEs/ dress code policy/ handling of safe chemicals with correct formulas / ratio.
• Ensures availability of all HK-pest control PPEs / supplies needed for entire shift i.e. goggles, gloves, mask, chemical respirator, bin liners, pest control chemicals, petrol / diesel etc.
• Responsible for daily staff attendance (HR current/HK manual attendance system) i.e. On/Off duties and breaks, overtime & request for leave and ensure staff over time/leave forms is filled by the requesting on duty staff, approved by immediate supervisor/update in HMIS system and maintain records.
• Monitor and control the monthly usage of pest control supplies and safe storage / usage of fumigation chemicals as established TIH-HK policies.
• Responsible to inspect assigned area / HK-pest control equipment/special task during change off shift.
• Supervise staff within time-bars allotted to each position & the time frame for each task, monitor & evaluate the work.
• Handle staff complaints, behavioral or attitude problems or if any staff require counselling/ reprimand.
• Ensure implementation of HK-pest control SOPs and effectively monitor operational standards and maintain appropriate documentations and required data / consent before pest control services from designated area on duty in charge/supervisor.
• Responsible to ensure that all daily/weekly routine fumigation / pest control services of non-critical / critical areas are done by the HK-pest control staff in assigned areas and follow established frequency / special schedule tasks are followed.
• Daily continuously assigned facility inspection/round (Inner & outer area) and maintain records.
• Responsible to use approved pest control chemical formulas / equipment during pest control treatment process.
• Maintain statutory requirements and codes of good working practices in connection with the HK-Pest Control SOPs
• HK-Pest Control staff must work with correct PPEs (Personal Protective Equipment) and follow hand wash protocol, before and after completion of pest control treatment / inspection of the assigned area.
• Maintaining safety of all pest control equipment’s & standards/protocols & ensure all equipment are in operating condition; initiate required repair.
• Trap & remove stray / feral dogs & cats and transport all animals at designated area in coordination with transport department.
• Maintain 100% accurate and complete daily records of pest control-intra & inter as well as HK-pest control/monitoring system.
• Responsible to provide flies / mosquitoes control throughout the breeding season to keep the flies / mosquitoes population below the critical levels as per protocol.
• Investigate pest control related customer complaints and initiate corrective action and provide feedback to HK management.
• Prepare PR & maintain pest control goods receiving log and follow/maintain inventory as per system.
• Conduct training sessions for staff to explain SOPs & to demonstrate use and maintenance of fumigation equipment.
• Responsible to submit month end performance reports on 3rd of every month.
• Any other task assigned by TL / immediate supervisor / HK management.

Qualification:

• Intermediate preferred /Certificate courses in pest control preferred

Experience:
• At least 2-3 years of prior work experience preferred.
