VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE POSITION OF THE VICE CHANCELLOR

Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science & Technology

The Search Committee is inviting applications/nominations (from Members of civil society, professionals, scholars etc.) of highly motivated candidates having strong leadership and administrative skills, for the position of the Vice Chancellor, Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science & Technology (FUUAST).

Job Responsibilities of Vice Chancellor Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science & Technology (FUUAST) according to HEC areL
The Vice Chancellor is the chief executive officer of the university and oversees academic, research and administrative matters and mobilizes the academic and financial resources. The Vice Chancellor reports to the Senate and ensures compliance with the provisions of the Ordinance, Statutes, Regulations and Rules of the University. S(he) leads development of the university through scholarship, provides conducive environment for research and make efforts to improve the academic standing of the institution including commitment to promote Urdu language.

The Vice Chancellor is expected to demonstrate a deep understanding of higher education issues including pedagogy, quality assurance, research and development and its impact on economy, the development of human resources, resource mobilization as well as constructive interaction with diverse communities and stakeholders. S(he) is responsible for resource generation through research grants and fundraising from businesses and industries.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
The Vice Chancellor shall be appointed by the Chancellor - on the basis of the recommendations made by the Senate - for a tenure (renewable) of five years as provided in FUUAST Act on such terms and conditions and salary package as prescribed by the relevant statutes and recommendations.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
The candidates already in Government/Semi Government services are required to apply through the proper channel. The Search Committee has the right to reject any application without assigning any reason, which may not be challenged in court.

Qualification:

The applicant/nominee should:
• not be more than 65 years of age on the last date of submission of application.
• have a PhD degree from an HEC recognized or UNESCO-listed Institution.
• have at least 20 years of overall experience in academics, administration and/or research from HEC recognized or renowned national/international institutions or organizations.
• possess distinguished Research and Publications record.
