The job responsibilities of Deputy Chief Engineer (Compressor) at Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) are:
The position exists for the purpose of providing in-house engineering consulting and advice for compressor systems and achieving proficiency in latest technologies. The incumbent is responsible to provide effective project management and consultancy services within the natural gas transmission industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop an understanding of gas compression technologies, equipment specifications, and industry standards. Provide directions on the technical aspects of compressor station design.
• Conduct need assessment of compressor project, review the process parameters obtain from simulation team and incorporate them in bidding document.
• Provide specialized engineering services for Contract management based on EPCC approach for compressor projects.
• Offer specialized consultancy services, drawing on extensive technical knowledge in compressor technology.
• Provide insights into intricate engineering challenges, conduct feasibility studies, and deliver tailored consultancy services aligned with the unique requirements of the gas transmission industry.
• Lead and manage compressor-related projects with a focus on technical excellence.
• Prepare Terms of References (ToRs), Scope of Services and evaluation criteria for obtaining consultancy services.
• Apply appropriate and relevant procurement methods and procedures as per Public Procurement Rules for acquisition of goods, works & services.
• Apply expertise in project planning, risk assessment, and execution, ensuring the successful implementation of projects within specified timelines and budgets.
• Apply technical knowledge of emerging technologies, to enhance the efficiency and reliability of the compressor design and operations.
• Utilize technical expertise to optimize resource allocation, implement cost-effective measures, and ensure that projects are executed efficiently without compromising safety or quality.
• Provide mentorship, conduct technical training programs, and foster a culture of continuous learning to ensure the team remains at the forefront of technological advancements.
• Engage effectively with internal stakeholders, external clients, and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure that his/her team in his/her domain is complying with the Company HSE&QA Guideline and implementing the HSE&QA procedures and protocols in routine processes.
• Ensure that his/her team in his/her domain is complying with the Company’s procurement procedure and regulatory requirement.
• Develop and implement risk response strategies for the risks under their management.
• Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of information provided for risk reporting.
• Undertake any other task as assigned by superior.
