Multan Institute of Kidney Diseases, Multan has announced job vacancy of Technologist Histopathology at Clinical Laboratories department.The job responsibilities of Technologist Histopathology at Multan Institute of Kidney Diseases, Multan are:
Prepare histologic slides from human tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnosis by Pathologist. Major • Prepares sections of human tissue for microscopic examination and patient diagnosis, using techniques to gross, embed, section/ microtomy, stain and mount tissue from surgical procedures.
• Examines slides and/or blocks to ensure tissue preparation is meeting laboratory requirements.
• Exercises independent judgment in dealing with procedural and technical problems.
• Trains or directs Laboratory Assistants and Histology Technicians engaged in laboratory testing and processing techniques.
• Maintains laboratory equipment and tracks all routine maintenance and quality controls performed.
• Maintains strictest confidentiality.
· Complies with all departmental rules, polices, and procedural manuals. Regular • A Receiving of Histopathology and Cytology specimen according to SOPs.
• Operates computerized laboratory equipment to fix, dehydrate, and infiltrate with wax, tissue specimens to be preserved for study by Pathologist.
• Operates, cleans, and sterilizes laboratory equipment, glassware, instruments, and workstation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Prepare slides and blocks of cytology specimens and stain them as per SOPs.
Periodic • Performs grossing of small specimens and fixes the large specimen under supervision. Assists the pathologist in grossing of large specimen.
• Disposal of hazardous chemical waste as per regulatory guidelines.

• Bachelors (BS MLT, DMLS)/ Masters / Certification / Diploma
