As a leader in this space, PwC Malta is currently seeking a Senior Security Engineer with a strong technical background in security architecture, engineering, and operations. This individual shall form part of a versatile team delivering a wide range of cybersecurity services to local and international clients. Your Mission As a professional at PwC, you’ll work as part of a team with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients strengthen and manage cybersecurity defences (people; technology and processes); assess practices; find solutions to complex issues and formulate strategy and plan implementations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Evaluating, designing, and implementing security-related technologies, products, and services based on Microsoft cloud security solutions, as well as other security vendors.
- Taking a leading role in client-facing implementation projects and being responsible for the execution of managed services.
- Working as part of a team to build robust solutions and secure solutions for clients, while mentoring and upskilling other junior members within the team.
- Developing our service offering by building relationships with vendors and technology providers.
- Preparing various deliverables in line with client expectations.
- Contributing to the development of your own and the team’s technical and business acumen.
- Supporting business development activities to help generate new opportunities.
- Keeping up to date with local and national business and economic issues.
- Ensuring you are adhering to internal compliance matters.
- Working on developing internal relationships and your PwC brand.
Eligibility / Qualification Required:
Suitable candidates should be in possession of a first degree in IT, Computer Engineering, Networking, Information Security or other similar IT and Security fields. Candidates are expected to aspire to obtain industry certifications, such as Security+, CISSP, CCSP, as well vendor-specific certifications, if not already obtained. Preference will be given to candidates who already have relevant Microsoft certifications (AZ-500, SC-100, SC-200, SC-300, SC-401). The ideal candidate should also:
- Have around 5 years of experience in IT and/or cyber security, with at least 3 years of hands-on exposure to security-related technologies.
- Have a working proficiency with Microsoft cloud security solutions, such as Sentinel, Defender, and Purview.
- Demonstrate proficiency in designing security architectures for both on-premises and cloud-based environments, implementing effective security controls, recommending security management best practices, as well as designing security operations processes.
- Be competent in security operations activities (such as logging and monitoring, incident response, security hardening, etc.), and security technologies and solutions (such as WAF, SIEM/SOAR, EDR, NDR, XDR, Threat Intelligence, etc.).
- Be confident in utilising automation tools and scripting languages such as PowerShell and Azure Logic Apps, with a willingness to expand technical expertise through training on tools, methods, and technologies.
- Enjoy collaborating with diverse teams, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills, and contributing positively to team dynamics.
- Have strong presentation and report writing skills.
- Demonstrate strong time management skills, adaptability to shifting priorities, and a commitment to meeting client needs.
