Qualification:

Bachelor’s / Master's degree in Disability Studies, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Architecture, Urban Planning, Inclusive Education, or another relevant discipline from a recognized institution

Experience:

Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in accessibility assessment, preferably for hospitals or healthcare facilities, with demonstrated expertise in ISO 21542, Universal Design principles, and disability-inclusive programming. Experience working on donor-funded projects, collaborating with Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), and preparing accessibility assessment reports and improvement action plans is required.

Job Description:

  • The Accessibility Analyst will conduct a comprehensive accessibility assessment of five health facilities in District Badin to assess physical, communication, and programmatic accessibility for persons with disabilities. The Analyst will identify accessibility barriers, evaluate compliance with international and national accessibility standards, and recommend practical improvements. The role includes field assessments, stakeholder consultations, report writing, and development of facility-specific Accessibility Improvement Action Plans. The Analyst will ensure all assessments align with Universal Design principles, ISO 21542, UNCRPD, WHO disability-inclusive standards, and CBM accessibility guidelines. The assignment will be completed within 45 working days.

  • Conduct accessibility assessments of assigned health facilities to assess physical, communication, and programmatic accessibility for persons with disabilities.
  • Develop and implement standardized assessment tools and scoring frameworks aligned with ISO 21542, Universal Design principles, UNCRPD, WHO standards, and national accessibility guidelines.
  • Perform site inspections, measurements, observations, and documentation of accessibility features, including entrances, ramps, pathways, consultation rooms, operating theatres, toilets, parking, and emergency exits.
  • Conduct stakeholder consultations, interviews, focus group discussions, and key informant interviews with hospital management, healthcare staff, persons with disabilities, caregivers, and community representatives.
  • Identify accessibility gaps, barriers, and compliance issues affecting persons with physical, visual, hearing, intellectual, psychosocial, and multiple disabilities.
  • Prepare comprehensive accessibility assessment reports, facility scorecards, comparative analyses, photo documentation, and evidence-based findings.
  • Develop facility-specific Accessibility Improvement Action Plans, including prioritized recommendations, implementation roadmaps, and estimated costs for infrastructure and service improvements.
  • Present assessment findings to project stakeholders, facilitate validation workshops, and incorporate feedback into final reports and recommendations.
  • Ensure ethical data collection practices by maintaining confidentiality, obtaining informed consent, and safeguarding the rights and dignity of all participants.
  • Complete all analysis deliverables within agreed timelines while maintaining high-quality documentation and compliance with IH&HN and donor requirements.
