PwC New Zealand is the leading M&A advisor in the market and the only Big 4 firm with a fully integrated deals capability across M&A, infrastructure, debt advisory, property and transaction services, advising on many of New Zealand’s most significant and complex transactions. We’re seeking a Manager to join our Corporate Finance (Deals) team in Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland. This role provides hands-on exposure to live buy-side and sell-side transactions, close Partner access, and a clear pathway toward Manager-level responsibility. As a Manager, you will also take ownership of
Financial Modelling and Valuation workstreams, playing a key role across the full transaction lifecycle. You will work directly with senior leaders and clients on a range of M&A, infrastructure, strategic advisory and valuation engagements. The role provides exposure to a diverse client base including privately owned businesses, corporates, financial sponsors / private equity, public sector agencies and Māori organisations. With a collaborative, hands-on team culture, you’ll be given responsibility early and supported to build confidence and progress quickly. In this role, you will:
- Support buy-side and sell-side transactions, including transaction analysis, due diligence support and execution activities.
- Build, review and own financial models and business valuations, including DCFs, trading and transaction comparables, and scenario analysis.
- Prepare high-quality client deliverables such as information memoranda (IMs), investment papers, valuation reports, and board and shareholder presentations.
- Analyse financial performance, growth drivers, risks and value creation opportunities to support investment decisions, pricing and negotiation strategy.
- Support transaction execution, including data room management, coordination with other advisors, and responding to buyer and investor queries.
- Work closely with Partners and Directors to deliver commercially robust, technically sound advice.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering collaboration to solve complex commercial and financial challenges, while exercising sound judgement on when to take decisive action or escalate
Eligibility / Qualification Required:

- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- 4+ years’ experience in corporate finance, financial advisory, or financial markets, preferably within a Big 4 or similar professional services environment.
- Demonstrated experience in financial modelling and valuations, including project finance models.
- Strong analytical skills, able to interpret financial data and translate insights into clear, actionable outcomes.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
- Strong commercial acumen with a solid understanding of financial drivers impacting business performance.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with experience working across multiple clients and stakeholders.
- High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and data integrity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including clear report writing and relationship building.
- Proactive, with the ability to take initiative and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Committed to continuous learning and development, particularly in financial modelling and corporate finance.
- Progress towards CFA or CA qualifications is desirable.
