Key Responsibilities:
Library Officer, organize the library database and help people find materials and resources. A college librarian connects students and faculty with critical research resources by managing the campus's digital and physical collections. Responsible for maintenance of the library and its collections.
a. To work as Focal Person for HEC digital library.
b. Liaison with Institution’s libraries regarding HEC digital library, funds issues, budget estimates, approval of books purchase cases, Libraries Statistics, searching of data bases & automation.
c. Facilitate the development and updating of library databases and searching of e-data base.
d. Liaison with P&D Dte regarding funds allocation head PC1.
e. Process the institution’s libraries purchasing cases, recurring allocated.
f. To train and educate the library staff.
g. Dealing with enquiries and assisting library users in accessing ICT and other resources.
h. Arrange appropriate resource material for research, advice and assist in locating the right information.
i. To conduct book fair.
j. Evaluate library inventory needs and place orders
k. Identify technology needs and make recommendations
l. Make sure library records are up to date.
m. Educating patrons on how to properly search for information using the library databases
n. Managing budgeting, planning, and employee activities.
o. Clarifying the use of library amenities and providing information about library policies
p. Performing regular audits of the information and inventory on file
Collecting and cataloging library resources including books, films, and publications.
Required Skills:
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities
- KOHA/ MS Office, Use of Digital Library, Drafting, Editing, Spoken in English, Web Designing, Press Clipping.
- Strong command of information literacy instruction, reference services, and cataloging standards
- Experience with AI research tools, data management, digital repositories, or coding languages (Python, SQL) for data curation.
- Proficiency with Library Management Systems
Eligibility / Qualification Required:
Qualification:Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS/MLS) from HEC recognized University.
Experience:
Essential
03-05 Years relavent experience from reputed public / private sector University.
Desirable
05-08 Years relavent experience from reputed public / private sector University.

Candidates may be considered ineligible for the post due to any of the following reasons:
- 3rd Div in academic career / weak academic profile.
- NUST employees with less than one year of service with NUST and / or absence of NOC from Head of Institution.
- In process of pursuing a required degree.
- Medically unfit.
- Candidates serving in Govt departments, Armed forces may apply through their respective parent department / organizations.
