JOB DESCRIPTION
Director LPDC is responsible for the following:
- Identify development needs and design the programs (trainings/ workshops) for development of faculty and staff of the University in coordination with Deans, Principals, and Campus management.
- Execute approved programs in coordination with respective DGs and Principals/ Directors of BU CUs.
- Prepare semester-wise Faculty Development/ Training Calendar for all Campuses/ CUs and process its approval from the Rector for promulgation prior implementation at respective Campus/ CU.
- Create opportunities for the faculty members for industry-academia linkages.
- Conceive, design, and execute short duration certification and diploma programs.
- Liaise with Deans of Faculties, Principals of Schools, and Heads of CUs for developing ‘Life and Employability Skills’ in line with curriculum laid down in ‘BU Students Career Services Manual’.
- Conceive and design programs for the students’ grooming for ‘Partially Compliant Programmes’ and ‘Non-compliant Programmes’ in coordination with 90 the concerned offices at respective CUs; in line with the BU Career Services Manual.
- Create opportunities for BU students to interact with leaders from various occupations. i. Work in close coordination with the academic departments for a wholesome grooming of enrolled students. Provide support in strengthening the industry-BU linkage through creating opportunities in the domain of ‘training workshops’ and ‘consulting assignments.
- Provide training workshops and consulting services to industry and associated stakeholders.
- Create opportunities for the faculty members and students to work on industry projects.
- Execute training, development and other such activities/ workshops for the practitioners and professionals.
- Design and execute short-duration certification and diploma programmes for professionals and practitioners.
- Work in close coordination with other Directorates at BU to improve the social citizenship and brand image of BU.
- Act as the Head Office point of contact for Diploma/ Certificate programmes by all CUs.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Pro Rector (RIC).
