The Department of Engineering at the University of New Brunswick, Saint John campus, invites applications for a 10-month term position at the rank of Assistant Professor, with the potential for renewal beginning August 03, 2026. This position is subject to final budgetary approval. The department offers a 2-year diploma program in engineering foundations with specializations in chemical, civil, electrical, environmental, mechanical, and software engineering. The department offers a 4-year degree program in environmental engineering that started Fall 2023. Also, the department is looking at expanding its offerings through teaching graduate courses toward the Master of Engineering in systems engineering. Responsibilities for this Term Assistant Professor position include teaching, research (including graduate student supervision), and assisting in university academic service. The salary range and fringe benefits for this position is defined in the Association of University of New Brunswick Teachers (AUNBT) 2025 - 2029 Collective Agreement. Eligibility / Qualification Required:

  • Candidates for the position must have a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering or closely related discipline, and clear evidence of strong research ability, as the successful candidate will be expected to establish an externally funded research program and be involved in supervision of graduate (MSc and PhD) students.
  • UNB Saint John has a strong commitment to teaching so demonstrated excellence in teaching will be an asset.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have obtained a P. Eng. or who are eligible to do so.
