Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the articulation and implementation of a medium-to-long-term strategic plan for SINES aligned with NUST's Vision 2030 and national S&T priorities.
- Provide academic oversight for all SINES programmes: BS Bioinformatics; MS Computational Science & Engineering; MS Bioinformatics; MS Systems Engineering; MS Climate Change & Sustainable Development; and PhD programmes in CSE, Bioinformatics, and CCSD.
- Lead curriculum review and benchmarking against international standards; initiate new interdisciplinary programmes responsive to emerging national needs.
- Lead efforts in securing external funding, grants, and philanthropic support for school development and research
- Ensure compliance with HEC quality assurance frameworks, accreditation requirements (PEC / NCEAC), and NUST's internal academic standards.
- Represent SINES at NUST Academic Council, Board of Studies, and relevant statutory and regulatory bodies.
- Cultivate partnerships with defence science organisations, federal/provincial government bodies, international universities, and R&D enterprises.
- Expand SINES's 10+ industry R&D ecosystem through new MoUs, joint projects, internship pipelines, and co-funded research.
- Represent SINES and NUST at national and international forums on computational sciences, engineering, and bioinformatics.
- Facilitate student and faculty exchange with leading international universities in SINES's core disciplines.
- Manage SINES's administrative functions including budgeting, resource allocation, infrastructure maintenance, and procurement within NUST's Delegation of Financial Powers.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting to the Pro-Rector (Academics) on academic, research, and administrative performance against agreed KPIs.
- Oversee admissions, student affairs, and academic calendar in alignment with NUST regulations.
Required Skills:
Systems Engineering, Computational Science & Engineering, Bioinformatics, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related STEM disciplines.
Eligibility / Qualification Required:
Qualification: Essential:
PhD in a relevant engineering or computational sciences discipline (Systems Engineering, Computational Science & Engineering, Bioinformatics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM field) from an HEC-recognised institution.
Must meet HEC eligibility criteria for appointment as Professor.
Desirable:
Post-doctoral research experience at a reputable national or international institution.
Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of total experience in academia, research, and institutional leadership.
- At least 8–10 years in an academic leadership role (Head of Department, Director, Dean, or equivalent).
- Strong publication record in HEC-recognised, internationally indexed journals in relevant STEM disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience leading research groups, securing competitive grants, and managing research laboratories.
- Experience chairing academic boards, programme committees, and accreditation / quality assurance processes.

- 3rd Div in academic career / weak academic profile.
- NUST employees with less than one year of service with NUST and / or absence of NOC from Head of Institution.
- In process of pursuing a required degree.
- Medically unfit.
