Batterjee Medical College is seeking a qualified and dynamic
Computer Science Faculty Member for the Preparatory Year Program. The role focuses on delivering foundational computing knowledge to pre-medical students, equipping them with essential digital, analytical, and problem-solving skills required for modern healthcare education.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Academic Delivery- Deliver Computer Science lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions for preparatory year students
- Teach foundational topics such as:
- Basic programming (e.g., Python or Java)
- Computer fundamentals and digital literacy
- Data handling and basic algorithms
- Apply student-centered teaching approaches to enhance engagement
- Utilize LMS (Blackboard) and digital tools effectively
- Prepare and administer assessments (e.g., ExamSoft or equivalent)
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and academic reports
Student Support- Provide academic guidance to students with varying technical backgrounds
- Support students in developing logical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Identify struggling students and provide targeted support
Academic Quality & Compliance- Ensure compliance with academic policies and accreditation standards
- Contribute to course development and continuous improvement
- Submit course reports and academic documentation on time
Collaboration & Engagement- Participate in departmental meetings and academic initiatives
- Collaborate with faculty to ensure aligned curriculum delivery
Requirements
- Master’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Experience teaching Computer Science (preferably foundation/preparatory level)
- Strong programming knowledge (Python, Java, or similar)
- Familiarity with LMS (Blackboard) and digital teaching tools
