Eligibility / Qualification Required:
The Student Affairs Officer plays a key role in enhancing the overall non-academic student experience at Batterjee Medical College. The position provides student support services, coordinates extracurricular and engagement activities, supports student welfare, and ensures the effective implementation of student policies and procedures.
The role supports students throughout their academic journey, from orientation through graduation, while ensuring alignment with BMC policies and applicable higher education regulations in Saudi Arabia.
Key Responsibilities
Student Support & Welfare
- Serve as a primary point of contact for students regarding non-academic inquiries, concerns, and support needs.
- Conduct and support new student onboarding and orientation programs.
- Provide guidance on student rights, responsibilities, policies, and available support services.
- Guide students to appropriate counseling, academic, or administrative support services when required.
- Support the handling and escalation of student complaints, appeals, and concerns in accordance with established policies.
- Promote student well-being and contribute to a supportive and inclusive campus environment.
Student Life & Engagement
- Plan and coordinate student events, extracurricular activities, clubs, awareness campaigns, and campus initiatives.
- Encourage student participation in community service, volunteering, cultural, social, and recreational activities.
- Support student clubs and organizations in planning and implementing approved activities.
- Maintain and coordinate the annual calendar of student activities in alignment with College objectives.
- Contribute to initiatives that enhance student engagement, belonging, and overall campus experience.
Student Affairs Administration
- Maintain accurate and confidential records related to student cases, requests, behavioral matters, and attendance-related follow-ups.
- Process and coordinate student requests in accordance with approved policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with Academic Affairs, Admission & Registration, Finance, HR, IT, and other departments regarding student-related matters.
- Prepare required reports, records, statistics, and documentation related to Student Affairs activities and services.
- Support institutional quality assurance and accreditation requirements related to student services.
Student Conduct & Policy Support
- Support the implementation of the Student Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Assist in handling student behavioral and disciplinary matters under the guidance of the relevant committee or management.
- Ensure student cases and requests are handled consistently, fairly, confidentially, and in accordance with BMC policies.
- Educate students on institutional policies, expected standards of conduct, and their rights and responsibilities.
Communication & Stakeholder Coordination
- Communicate effectively with students regarding policies, activities, announcements, services, and important updates.
- Identify recurring student concerns and trends and communicate relevant findings to management.
- Coordinate with external organizations, vendors, and community partners for student activities and services when required.
- Collect student feedback and contribute to initiatives aimed at continuously improving the student experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in Student Affairs, student services, student engagement, or an administrative role, preferably within a higher education environment.
- Experience working with university or college students is preferred.
- Knowledge of the Saudi higher education environment and student affairs practices is an advantage.
- Saudi National is required.
