The purpose of this post is to provide comprehensive leadership and technical support to the district health authorities and partners for all aspects of polio eradication and immunization activities. The incumbent will be the primary technical focal point for the World Health Organization (WHO) at the district level, ensuring that the goals and strategies of the National Emergency Action Plan (NEAP) for Polio Eradication are effectively planned, implemented, and monitored.

Under the direct supervision of the respective WHO Divisional PEI Officer and the overall guidance of the WHO Provincial Team Lead for PEI at provincial level and oversight from PEI Coordinator Pakistan, the incumbent will be responsible for all polio eradication and immunization activities in the assigned district. This role involves close collaboration and coordination with government authorities, including the District Health Management Team (DHMT), the District Commissioner, and Partners such as UNICEF, NSTOP, CDC, Gates Foundation etc., to ensure the successful execution of polio eradication, routine immunization, and other relevant public health programs. The incumbent will work within the national policies and guidelines defined in WHO program and policy documents.

Eligibility / Qualification Required:

  • Essential: A university degree in Medicine (MBBS/MD) from a recognized university, registered with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).
  • Desirable: A Postgraduate degree in a related field such as Public Health or Epidemiology is highly desirable.

Professional Experience:

  • A minimum of One Year of relevant professional experience in public health, disease surveillance, immunization, and/or polio eradication activities.
  • Experience in field-level public health programs and working with communities is essential.
  • Proficiency in Data Management and Analysis tools like MS Office, SPSS, Power BI, GIS etc is required.
