As a Cyber Defence Analyst, you'll be an essential part of our Managed Cyber Defence team who bring together advanced technology, data and expertise to help safeguard client organisations New Zealand wide, working on projects that redefine the future of security. Based in the vibrant cities of Auckland or Wellington, you'll start with in-person training, followed by the flexibility to work remotely, allowing you to contribute to complex digital ecosystems and enhance your skills in New Zealand Cyber Security. The role involves occasional public holidays balanced by time off during weekdays. Minimal travel means you can concentrate on honing your skills effectively. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking for Entry Level Cyber Security NZ positions.

Eligibility / Qualification Required:

  • You don’t need any formal qualifications, just a genuine passion for growing your career within technology and security with support from your team.
  • Enthusiasm and readiness to embrace learning opportunities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to translate technical understanding into well-thought-out advice for client organisations and work with cross-functional teams to provide business-focused solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to identify patterns and trends in data to extract useful indicators of compromise.
  • Comfortable in client-facing environments and possesses a genuine interest in people.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced settings, managing conflicting deadlines and requirements across a range of projects.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of Windows system internals, Defender, and Active Directory's role within enterprises is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with EPP/EDR products such as Sentinel, CrowdStrike, Palo-Alto or similar is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with identity products such as SailPoint, CyberArk or similar is beneficial.
  • Some knowledge of scripting languages like Python, Perl, or PowerShell for process automation and data analysis is a plus.
