Eligibility / Qualification Required:
Role & Responsibilities
1. Engineering Oversight
> Supervise a team of design managers responsible for coordinating architectural, structural, MEP, façade, and specialist designs.
> Lead the review of Issued for Construction (IFC) documentation across all disciplines to ensure constructability, coordination, and completeness.
> Evaluate interface conflicts between systems and propose coordinated resolutions during design and pre-construction phases.
> Assess design assumptions against construction constraints (e.g. vertical logistics, tower crane reach, casting sequences) and recommend adjustments to improve buildability.
> Oversee contractor design submissions including shop drawings, method statements, and material approvals to ensure alignment with specifications, code compliance, and project intent.
> Drive value engineering exercises to optimize specifications, reduce rework risks, and improve efficiency without compromising design integrity or compliance.
> Interface with client-appointed consultants and internal teams to clarify design intent and close outstanding technical matters.
2. Construction Methods & Site Logistics
> Define and validate construction approaches for all key building systems:
- Structural works: including conventional, jump form, and table form shuttering systems.
- Façade works: installation methods, access strategies, and sequencing.
- MEP services: vertical distribution strategy, prefabrication opportunities, and spatial coordination.
> Evaluate site logistics plans including crane location, hoist routes, material flow, and site staging with consideration for urban constraints.
> Ensure contractor method statements are technically sound and aligned with project phasing, safety standards, and site constraints.
3. Construction Planning & Scheduling
> Oversee the preparation and maintenance of the master construction schedule by managing one or more planners in the team.
> Ensure schedule logic reflects approved methodologies and is structured to protect critical path activities.
> Coordinate structural, façade, and MEP sequencing with design teams and contractors to reduce conflicts and optimize workflow.
> Monitor schedule performance and provide strategic direction for recovery plans or resequencing where required.
Requirements:
Required Experience & Skills
> 15+ years of experience delivering high-rise projects with a design & build contractor, with a proven ability to manage multidisciplinary coordination from design development through construction.
> Experienced in supervising design managers and integrating their outputs into construction planning.
> Strong working knowledge of BIM processes with hands-on experience using BIM models to coordinate and optimize designs for construction.
> Hands-on experience in construction method planning, scheduling logic and workflows, with the ability to lead and manage one or more planning professionals.
> Technically grounded, pragmatic, and confident in site-based problem-solving and executive-level reporting.
Required Education
> Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (mandatory)
> Master’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management, or a related
discipline (preferred)
Compensation Full expatriate benefits for international candidates, along with a competitive salary package reflective of the seniority and impact of this position.
