Key Responsibilities:
To assist, planning and execution of various sports activities (Inter Schools, Inter Colleges & Intervarsity) in order to offer occasions for social contact and healthy activities amongst the students.
a. In line with PUSB (Pakistan University Sports Boards) Annual Sports Calendar, assist in planning and organize in Campus, Inter NUST & Intervarsity competitions.
b. To liaise with students to identify their preferred sports.
c. Formation / training of teams & arrangement of coaches.
d. To assist in planning and dissemination of sports calendar to colleges / schools.
e. To ensure that all indoor & outdoor facilities are well maintained.
f. To arrange and provide Sports Gears, Sports Items and Playing Kits to players and officials.
g. To prepare maximum teams for participation in Intervarsity competitions both at Zonal and Pakistan level.
h. To assist in organizing HEC Intervarsity competitions both at Zonal and National level as and when deputed by HEC.
i. To plan and execute the development / repair / maintenance of sports facilities.
j. To arrange medals, trophies, certificates, prize money and sports scholarships etc as per NUST / PUSB rules to the student sportsmen/women and sports officials showing outstanding merit and performance.
k. To facilitate /support all schools to organize their Sports Galas / Sports week.
l. To assist to organize / support NUST Olympiad and NIMUN etc.
m. Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the University.
n. Any Task assigned by DD Sports.
Required Skills:
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities
a. Able to organise sports event at university and all Pak Intervarsity levels.
b. Assist Department Head in the completion of sports events/projects in order to facilitate students and other related communities
c. Ability to understand student sports needs and take prompt decisions.
d. Demonstrate ability to recruit and retain high quality sports/ground staff.
e. Have a flexible approach towards practical work.
f. Creates a positive environment through own passion and energy.
g. Commitment to ethical professional practice.
h. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
i. Physically fit to perform the duties. pertaining to the position.
Eligibility / Qualification Required:
Qualification:Essential Qualifications
BSc Physical Education/Sports Discipline from any HEC recognised university or any national level player having requisite qualification.
Desirable Qualifications
MSc Physical Education/Sports Discipline from any recognised foreign university OR any international player having requisite qualification.
Experience:
Essential Experience
Minimum Five (03) years’ experience in the development of setups and work systems that incorporate comprehensive sports functions for new and running entities.
Desirable Experience
Minimum Five (05) years experience in the field of management of sports events / activities at national/international level.
General Conditions:
Candidates are required to attach scanned copies of their documents (Academics / Professional). Last education certificate/degree must be attested/verified by HEC.
Candidates may be considered ineligible for the post due to any of the following reasons:
- 3rd Div in academic career / weak academic profile.
- NUST employees with less than one year of service with NUST and / or absence of NOC from Head of Institution.
- In process of pursuing a required degree.
- Medically unfit.
- Only selected candidates will be contacted and issued offer letter.
- Candidates serving in Govt departments, Armed forces may apply through their respective parent department / organizations.
