Position SummaryThe Assistant Manager – Enterprise Data Networks is responsible for supporting the planning, design, implementation, and running regular operations of the organization’s enterprise data network infrastructure. This role leads daily data network operations, ensures high network availability, monitors and reports the network KPIs, leads a team of network engineers and support staff, and collaborates with cross-functional units to deliver reliable and secure network services for both internal users and external customers.

Key Responsibilities1. Network Operations & Maintenance- Oversee and run day-to-day operations of the enterprise data network, ensuring optimal performance, high availability, and fast incident resolution.
- Monitor network health using NMS/EMS tools and ensure proactive identification and mitigation of issues.
- Manage maintenance windows, firmware upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management of network devices.
- Runs daily reporting and health check of the EDN elements and reports to technical leadership
2. Network Design & Implementation- Assist in the design and implementation of complex Layer 2/Layer 3 networks, MPLS, VPN, SD-WAN, and data center network solutions.
- Lead deployment of network enhancements, expansions, and modernization projects.
- Work closely with SM EDN to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
3. Team Leadership & Coordination- Supervise and mentor a team of network engineers, technicians and support staff
- Allocate tasks, review performance, and provide technical guidance and training.
- Coordinate with other internal teams such as IT, Cybersecurity, Cloud, and Operations for seamless service delivery.
4. Incident, Problem & Change Management- Act as owner for complex network incidents and service outages.
- Conduct root-cause analysis (RCA) and prepare incident reports.
- Ensure compliance with ITIL processes for change, incident, and problem management.
5. Network Security & Compliance- Work with the security team to implement and maintain network security standards, including firewalls, NAC, segmentation, access controls and more.
- Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, PCI-DSS, local telecom regulations).
6. Vendor & Stakeholder Management- Coordinate with equipment vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Huawei, etc.) and service partners for procurement, support, and issue resolution.
- Evaluate new technologies, works on POCs and provide recommendations for upgrades and improvements.
- Support budgeting and cost optimization activities for network infrastructure.
7. Documentation & Reporting- Maintain detailed documentation of network topology, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Prepare regular performance reports, audits, and capacity planning forecasts.
- Develop SOPs and best-practice guidelines for operational excellence.
