Junior Technician

Eligibility / Qualification Required:

• Qualification:

  Diploma in Operation Theatre Technology (02 Years) recognized from Medical Faculty

• Experience:

  Minimum 01 year of experience

Job Description:

• Prepare operating room according to scheduled surgical procedures.
• Ensure availability and sterility of surgical instruments, equipment, and consumables before procedure.
• Assist in patient positioning and preparation under aseptic conditions.
• Arrange and maintain equipment and instrument for special procedures.
• Assist surgeons as scrub and handle surgical instruments, sutures, and supplies during procedures.
• Ensure proper handling and segregation of used instruments.
• Coordinate with CSSD for decontamination and sterilization.
• Clean and prepare operating room for subsequent procedures.
• Report equipment faults to Supervisor, OR immediately.
• Ensure consent forms have the correct patient information and have been signed and approved by the concerned authority.
• Ensure documentation is complete and properly recorded (including consumption forms, procedure entry register).
• Follow checklists on daily basis (Temperature record, Disinfection record, OR Utilization record, equipment checklists)
• Perform pre-procedure equipment checks and report discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety protocols, hospital policies and operating room SOPs.
• Ensure all protocols are followed when shifting patients to the Recovery Room after assuring the patient is cleaned, dressed and covered.
• Maintain professional conduct, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
• Perform any other task assigned by the immediate supervisor that is commensurate with your knowledge and skills.
