Role: Assistant Manager Import | Department: Supply Chain & Import Clearnace | City: Lahore | Place of Work: Lahore | Employment Type: Full Time
Key Responsibilities:
Job Summary:
The role is responsible for managing and coordinating the end-to-end import shipment process, from supplier follow-up and shipping documentation to customs clearance and shipment release. The incumbent will coordinate closely with suppliers, Finance, clearance teams, shipping lines, and port authorities to ensure timely documentation, payments, clearance, and delivery while maintaining accurate import records and reports.
Job Description:Import Shipment Tracking
- Follow up with suppliers regarding shipment status and ensure timely updates.
- Track shipments from dispatch until arrival and release.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date import shipment records.
Shipping Documentation
- Follow up with suppliers for shipping documents immediately after vessel sailing.
- Obtain and track original shipping documents and their courier/tracking details.
- Share complete document sets with the clearance team in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with Finance for the release and dispatch of original documents to the clearance team.
Duty & Payment Coordination
- Obtain duty demands 2–3 days prior to shipment arrival.
- Coordinate with Finance for timely arrangement of pay orders and other required payments.
- Follow up on shipping line, port, and yard payment requirements after shipment arrival.
Customs Clearance Coordination
- Coordinate closely with the clearance team to ensure timely shipment clearance.
- Follow up on pending documentation, payments, and clearance requirements to avoid delays.
- Monitor the shipment lifecycle from receipt of documents through final release.
Import Reporting & Record Management
- Maintain and update monthly import shipment data on a GD-wise basis.
- Ensure accurate documentation and records of all import shipments, payments, and clearance status.
- Provide regular updates on shipment progress and pending matters to relevant stakeholders.
Job Specification:Education: Graduation or Master's Degree
Experience: 4-5 years of relevant experience Job Related Competencies:
- Shipping documentation
- Govt Rules and regulation for import
- LC and import procedure complete knowledge
- Good relationship with shipping lines
- Software knowledge ERP and SAP
Personal Competencies:
- Good communication Skills
- Time Management
- Pressure Handling
