Key Responsibilities:
The purpose of the Senior Manager Quality Assurance role is to lead and manage the organization’s software quality assurance function by
establishing robust testing strategies, implementing automated testing frameworks, ensuring software reliability, and maintaining quality
standards across all applications and systems. The role is responsible for driving continuous improvement in software quality processes,
minimizing production defects, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software products and enterprise solutions.
Quality Assurance Leadership
- Lead and manage the Quality Assurance (QA) team including manual and automation testers.
- Define QA strategy, testing methodologies, standards, policies, and best practices.
- Develop and implement quality assurance frameworks for enterprise applications, web portals, mobile applications, ERP systems, and APIs.
- Ensure compliance with organizational quality standards and software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
- Establish KPIs and quality metrics for software testing and product performance.
Automated Testing Management
- Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks and testing pipelines.
- Lead automation testing initiatives for web, mobile, desktop, and API-based applications.
- Identify opportunities for increasing test automation coverage and reducing manual testing efforts.
- Ensure integration of automated testing within CI/CD pipelines.
- Review and optimize automated test scripts for efficiency, scalability, and maintainability.
- Oversee regression, performance, load, integration, and security testing activities.
Testing & Quality Control
- Prepare and review test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and defect reports.
- Ensure timely identification, tracking, and resolution of software defects.
- Coordinate with development, DevOps, business, and project teams for issue resolution.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring quality issues.
- Ensure system functionality, usability, performance, reliability, and security standards are achieved.
Process Improvement & Governance
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in QA processes and testing efficiency.
- Establish quality gates and release readiness criteria.
- Ensure proper documentation of QA processes, testing results, and audit records.
- Conduct periodic quality audits and risk assessments.
- Mentor and train QA team members on automation tools and modern testing practices.
Reporting & Stakeholder Management
- Present quality status reports, testing progress, and risk assessments to senior management.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to understand business and system requirements.
- Support successful deployment and post-implementation quality monitoring.

- Defect Tracking Tools (JIRA, Bugzilla, Azure Boards)

- Knowledge of AI-assisted testing tools
- Security and penetration testing awareness
- Scripting/programming knowledge in Java, Python, or JavaScript
- Test data management and environment management expertise
Eligibility / Qualification Required:
Qualification:Essential Qualifications
16-year bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline from HEC recognized University/ Institute.
Preferably with exceptional certifications and demonstrated experience in similar role.
Desirable Qualifications
18-year (Master’s) degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (HEC recognized)..
Experience:
Essential Experience
- 8 -12 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Testing.
- Minimum 4
- 5 years of experience managing QA teams.
- Hands-on experience in automation testing tools and frameworks.
- Experience with enterprise applications, ERP systems, web portals, and mobile applications.
- Experience in defect management, release management, and testing lifecycle management.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Experience in higher education, enterprise, or large-scale IT environments.
- Experience with cloud-based applications and microservices architecture.
- Experience managing large automation testing projects.

- 3rd Div in academic career / weak academic profile.
- NUST employees with less than one year of service with NUST and / or absence of NOC from Head of Institution.
- In process of pursuing a required degree.
