Role Overview:
The post is full-time, based primarily at the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Lahore, Pakistan.
This is a full-time post for a highly motivated and committed individual to undertake a key role as Consultant Hepatobiliary Surgeon (HPB), who can provide high-quality HPB surgery within the Division of Surgical Oncology. The appointee is expected to strengthen and develop HPB surgery services and will be responsible for operating, treating, and caring for infectious, benign, and malignant neoplastic conditions involving the liver, gallbladder, biliary system, and pancreas.
The candidate will provide on-call cover as a general surgeon for emergencies and will be expected to collaborate with other surgeons, anesthetists, oncologists, and related professionals in the multidisciplinary care of cancer patients. The post-holder will also work with and support established multidisciplinary, site-specific teams, and will be expected to participate in a full general surgical training programme, as well as in the training of postgraduate fellows in Surgical Oncology.
Eligibility / Qualification Required:
FRCS with sub-specialization (CCT) in HPB Surgery or equivalent
American Board of Surgery with sub-specialization in HPB Surgery or equivalent
Post-CCT relevant experience
Full registration with PMDC
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Effective time management and organizational skills
