Manager ICT Support

Applications are invited for the post of Manager ICT Support at National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST).

Institute: University Main Office (UMO)

Age Limit: 22 - 45 years

Salary: 100000

Key Responsibilities:

To lead the technical support team and optimize ICT infrastructure to ensure maximum system availability and seamless service delivery for

all organizational users.

Below are some of the responsibilities an IT manager is expected to perform:

a. Strong understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and enterprise software environments.

b. Familiarity with networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi).

c. Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and enterprise identity management systems

d. Plan and oversee the installation and maintenance of computer systems, hardware, and networks

e. Knowledge of hardware components, desktops, laptops, printers, servers, and peripheral devices .

f. Analyze resource utilization and develop strategies to optimize performance

g. Establish, measure, and define IT goals and maintain an IT roadmap

h. Direct the activities of the help desk to ensure the IT needs of users are met

i. Manage development projects to integrate new technologies into existing systems

j. Perform ongoing support and maintenance of all hardware, software, and network components.

k. Ability to prepare and manage budgets related to IT support operations.

l. Ability to translate complex technical issues into clear, understandable language for management and end users

Required Skills:

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities

  • Experience with ticketing systems.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Analyzing complex technical issues to determine root causes and implementing effective solutions

Eligibility / Qualification Required:

Qualification:Essential Qualifications

16-year bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline from HEC recognized University/ Institute.

Desirable Qualifications

18-years degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (HEC recognized).

Experience:

Minimum 3–5 years of IT support experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory/managerial role.

General Conditions:

Candidates are required to attach scanned copies of their documents (Academics / Professional). Last education certificate/degree must be attested/verified by HEC.

Candidates may be considered ineligible for the post due to any of the following reasons:

  • 3rd Div in academic career / weak academic profile.
  • NUST employees with less than one year of service with NUST and / or absence of NOC from Head of Institution.
  • In process of pursuing a required degree.
  • Medically unfit.
  • Only selected candidates will be contacted and issued offer letter.
  • Candidates serving in Govt departments, Armed forces may apply through their respective parent department / organizations.
